2016 UNC Chapel Hill Graduate B.S. Quantitative Biology B.A. English Physics Minor GPA: 3.99
Experience
My tutoring experience began when I was in high school; I became a math tutor, helping in all classes through multi-variable calculus. After I thoroughly enjoyed that experience, I sought other tutoring opportunities in college. I spent a year and a half working as a supplemental instructor for Biology 101, organizing review sessions for small groups and helping individual students. Afterwards, I became a physics teaching assistant for a year and a half and gained experience assisting with labs, working in the physics/math tutorial center, and helping students get excited about the subject. Outside of my tutoring experience with UNC Chapel Hill, I worked with AVID tutoring for a couple years. The role of their tutors is to teach students how to come with the answers to their own questions, rather than just giving the students answers -- this helps the students become more self-sufficient learners. Because I have tutoring experience in a variety of disciplines, I feel comfortable helping students with most subjects.

Hobbies
In my free time, I enjoy playing the violin and piano, as well as discussing music as a subject. (I also taught private violin lessons for my 4 years at Chapel Hill.) I also like to bake -- I've been told I can make some mean cookies, dinner rolls, and cakes. And I'm always open to try new recipes! In general, I devote a good amount of time to leading a healthy and active lifestyle. I've done a variety of sports, including swimming, soccer, and gymnastics.
